Newsflash for nobody: DRM still sucks

h1 August 11th, 2007

How can he pushers of DRM honestly expect people to suck up their crap? This story of getting seriously inconvenienced by Google Video’s DRM terms is utterly ridiculous!

And by the way, so much for not being evil, Larry and Sergey…

[Update 23/08/07] Google have offered a better arrangement to fix this problem. It still doesn’t change the fact that DRM sucks, though.

  1. If you have a look at Gmail you will see that their “Don’t Be Evil” policy is out the window. Your data/email used to be kept indefinitely, even after you deleted it and they would do anything they liked with it even to the extent of handing out info to law organisations, just because said law organisations asked for it. No need to be accused of a crime, no need for a subpoena at all!! Recently though, competition with other search engines has forced them to tighten their privacy policies. I’d include hyperlinks, but alas I don’t know how to do it!
